Next Show: The Old Courts, Wigan

Mama at The Old Courts WiganMama to perform their 2017 show at The Old Courts in Wigan

It’s time to start promoting the next show and to do just that, we have some videos from our previous show at The Picturedrome in Holmfirth. We had a great time at that one!

So, here’s the date for your diary; Saturday 21st October 2017

If you want tickets for the show, you can buy them from Eventbrite here: www.eventbrite.co.uk

Charity walk with Jules

As you will no doubt be aware (if you attended our Holmfirth show), Jules signed up to do a charity walk in Chester over the weekend just gone. She did a bit of a collection at Holmfirth and the audience very generously donated £110.00 to The Brain Tumour Charity. Jules had this to say:

“Yesterday I took part in the Twilight Walk in Chester in aid of The Brain Tumour Charity in memory of Dale Bellis, who was a very close friend of all involved in Mama and friend of many who came to not only Mama gigs but other Genesis tributes as well. The audience at our Holmfirth gig on Friday very kindly donated £110, which I am very grateful for. As a group, Dale’s family and friends have raised around £2500.00. Thanks to everyone who supported us.”

So there you have it. Good news for our next gig, our charity efforts and now…. more good news with three videos from our recent show. First up is Ripples, which we closed the first half of the show with. There’s a bit of patter about the charity at the beginning too. After that, we have Follow You Follow Me, which seems appropriate, given the charity walk. Finally, we have Home By The Sea (Part 1). We realised this particular song hasn’t been featured much on our website, so we thought we’d post it.

Hope you enjoy the videos! Don’t forget to book your tickets for The Old Courts, Wigan!  🙂

Mama at The Old Courts Wigan

Mama at Holmfirth PicturedromeRemember us?

Hi everyone! First of all many, many thanks for all the support you have given us during the past few difficult months. For the first time we had to postpone a series of shows due to John our keyboard wizard having to be at his son Dan’s bedside after Dan was critically injured in a motor cycle accident in Australia last June. It was touch and go for a long while but we are pleased to say that Dan is slowly recovering from this ordeal and John is back home.

Updated date sheet

The shows we postponed have been re-arranged as per the updated date sheet and we are still working hard to get the ones we have not been able to do this year sometime in 2018. View full article »

2012 A Year In Review

Christmas? A Birthday? Or both?

It’s Christmas and the band is officially turning one year old! A mere year has gone by and we’ve racked up a steady 16 gigs in 10 counties, selling over 1,800 tickets. We’ve released 17 different videos on our Vimeo Channel and had 144 excellent comments on our website. We’ve picked up 1,300 likes on our Facebook page and our discussion forum has seen people discussing the band and Genesis themselves all year round. On Twitter we’ve had an excellent run, gaining over 1,000 followers from all over the world. In short, 2012 was a great year for the band thanks to you.

2013 beckons for Genesis fans everywhere

If 2012 was the year that the band was put together and built into a full show, 2013 is going to be the year we build our audiences and bring the show to new people. We’ve made significant investments in our sound equipment, our videos, merchandise lines, our promotion and of course put in a lot of work to perfect our set list over 2012, which we will be adding to for 2013. We also intend on building our light show to compliment the bands performance for 2013 and we have several new Genesis pieces in the pipeline to refresh the setlist. So, exciting times ahead! Mama - Genesis - Manc Floyd - Pink Floyd - StillMarillion - MarillionMama, the UKs ‘all era’ Genesis tribute band today announce a huge gig for 2013 at The Rose Club (formerly Monaco Ballroom) in Hindley, Wigan!

It seems in the short nine months that the band have been performing, we’ve been inundated with requests to put a show in the Wigan area. So here it is… Saturday 30th March 2013 – that’s Easter Weekend!

Prog Rock Celebration, featuring the best of British Progressive Rock music!

We’ve teamed up with Ampro Promotions to bring you this great show which will feature Mama, Manc Floyd and Scotlands Stillmarillion. The show will be a fitting way to celebrate our first year anniversary, having met some great new friends on our travels. You’ll get three bands each doing a one and a half hour set of the best prog rock pieces the world has seen, totalling four and a half hours of live music entertainment! What more could anyone ask for?

Tickets are now on sale for this event on the EventBrite website. They are £20.00 for a standard ticket or £30.00 for a VIP ticket. The VIP tickets will include a limited edition event T-shirt and other surprises on the night. Standard tickets will also be available on the door priced £27.00.

Closer to the show date, we will be sorting out an exclusive offer with a local hotel to enable everyone to get quality board and lodgings. This means you can get a train into Wigan from anywhere in the UK, stop over and generally have a blast hanging out with a great crowd! More info on that when we have it.

Please help us promote the show by sharing this post on Facebook and Twitter using the share buttons below. The more we get into the venue, the better the atmosphere and the greater the show will be!  🙂
