Legends of Rock & Fisher Theatre, Bungay

Legends of RockMama, the UK’s all era Genesis tribute band to perform at Legends of Rock and Fisher Theatre (Bungay) this weekend!

Okay we’ve now recovered from our weekend away to Stoney Stanton. Thanks to everyone who made the trip to see us. It was much appreciated.

Onwards and upwards, this weekend is a big one. First we have our slot at Legends of Rock in Great Yarmouth. The band will be on stage at approximately 2.50pm until 4.00pm on Friday. We think the event is pretty much sold out now, but if you’re desperate for tickets, we would suggest you head over to the Legends of Rock website and see if you can sweet talk them into selling you some.

Fisher Theatre, Bungay

On Saturday, we return to the fabulous Fisher Theatre in the sleepy village of Bungay, which is a great place to relax after a rock festival like Legends of Rock. We’ll be running our newly upgraded light show at this gig so expect to be dazzled quite literally. You can buy tickets for the Fisher Theatre show from their website.

Digital Streaming & Distribution of Mama Content

We’ve got a new desk recording to share with you. This is Mama, performing Mama at a Mama show in Grimsby a couple of weeks ago. You can listen to it on SoundCloud:

You can also listen to it on BandCamp:

The BandCamp player should in theory allow you to download the track so that you can put it on your iPod, iPhone or other digital device and listen to it whenever you like. We’re still experimenting with some digital streaming and distribution systems.

We hope to see some of you at Fisher Theatre this weekend coming and thanks for listening to our latest desk recordings. Feel free to leave a comment below and if you’re not already, please subscribe to our email newsletter on the right hand side so that we can let you know when we are performing a show in your area.

Mama, the UKs ‘all era’ Genesis tribute band would like to announce several new shows for 2013.

Quick shout out for this Friday night (2nd November 2012); you can still buy tickets for our Skipton show! Get them on this very website in fact! Click here.

Saturday 9th February 2013 we will be returning to the venue of our second ever gig at Stoney Stanton Social Club, Stoney Stanton. Those who remember our first trip to this venue will tell you we had a great audience and hence a great gig! It might not be so sunny this time around though!

You can contact the venue for tickets on 01455 272 492 or visit the Stoney Stanton Social Club website.

Friday 1st March 2013 sees Mama performing at the world famous Cavern Club, Liverpool. I’m sure The Cavern needs no introduction, being the spiritual home of The Beatles. This gig should prove to be a rocking night! You can contact The Cavern box office on 0151 236 9091. Their website is www.cavernclub.org.

Genesis Tribute Band Mama to Play Cavern

Saturday 16th March 2013 we’ve put a show in Yardbirds Rock Club. After Tribfest 2012 we had a lot of interest in the Hull and Grimsby area so we felt it only fair to try and find a venue over that way. This will be the first time Mama have performed in this venue so we are hoping for a good turnout. Tickets are available from Yardbirds Rock Club on 07771 520 374. Alternatively, they sell tickets from a number of other places which are detailed on their website; www.yardbirdsrocks.co.uk.

A special thanks must go out to everyone who attended our Playhouse 2 sellout show in Shaw. Thanks everyone for coming down and helping us celebrate the music of Genesis. Here’s some video footage of the band performing Spectral Mornings at this venue and if you haven’t already gone out and bought Steve Hackett’s new album, Genesis Revisited II, why not? It’s a great album and we highly recommend it! Buy it now!

Hope you enjoy the video. Why not let us know what you think of it on our forum?

Mama Launch Weekend – Thanks all!

John W - Pacific Road Mama Launch GigEvening all!  (as JW would say)  🙂

As the Mama launch weeked draws to a close, we’d like to pass our thanks on to everyone who came to see our shows at Pacific Road Arts Centre in Birkenhead and Stoney Stanton Social Club in, er, Stoney Stanton! We really cannot tell you how much it means to the band to have two amazing crowds, having never played a gig before as a band. The atmosphere you lot created was truly electric!

Also, we’d like to thanks Steve & Neil from Moonshooter who promoted the Pacific Road gig and Jim and his team at Stoney Stanton who pulled an amazing attendance out of the hat. Don’t forget to keep your eye on the Ultimate Set List Live and Stoney Stanton Social Club websites for some great live events happening in your area.

The Mama Facebook page has been buzzing with feedback from lots of people and we’ve received countless emails telling us what a great time everyone had watching the band. Here’s a selection of your feedback:

“Great gig last night at Stoney Stanton – you rocked it guys!xx”

“Mama, The All Era Genesis Tribute Band Review.

From the smoldering embers of Face Value, one of the best ever Genesis tribute bands has emerged.

There are no gimmicks, costumes or masks just 5 talented musicians doing what they do best….entertaining their fans.

The backbone of the band needs no introduction. John W, the authentic lead vocalist who sounds more like Phil Collins everyday, Chris O, whose guitar solos make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end and the modest John C on keyboards who at times appears embarrassed to be gifted with such ability.

“And then there were 3” are joined by James, the young enthusiastic acoustic drummer who was clearly loving every second of the performance and Mark on Bass who has added a new dimension to the sound.

The “Mama” family also consists of new professional sound man, Andrew, lighting by way of the always reliable Kev and backup from Dave. Then, of course, are the devoted and loyal fans that will travel all over the country to share in the “Mama” experience.

Yesterday was their first gig in Birkenhead after months of rehearsals to integrate the new members and to learn new songs. The hard work has paid dividends with a slick show that swiftly moved from one song to another seamlessly and during the performance each band member had the opportunity to perform individually to great effect. It is unlikely that Genesis will ever reform but if they have the opportunity to see this band perform they will realise their legacy is in safe hands.

Enjoy Stoney Stanton and beyond.”
