We’re back from a great show in Rugby at The Benn Hall. Special thanks to everyone who came to see us, both regulars, first timers and multiple timers. Want to know what people said about the show?

Great gig… new bassist slotted in just right (I must admit I was worried about staff changes prior to the gig).

Having seen Genesis live before, wasn’t sure what to expect from a tribute band. To state that I was blown away, would be an understatement. You are, collectively brilliant. Many thanks for a FANTASTIC show at the Benn Hall in Rugby last night. If you would like to use this quote from me, please do so. As an avid fan, you were BRILLIANT. CAN’T WAIT TO MEET YOU NEXT TIME. Thanks for a great time.

Mama at The Railway, Bromley CrossThe next show? Why, that would be THE CITADEL followed by THE RAILWAY!

Onwards and upwards, our next show is at The Citadel in St. Helens on Friday 10th October. Last time we visited this venue, the atmosphere was to die for! Such a great audience. So, if you’re thinking of coming down, buy your tickets online from The Citadel website. The day after our St. Helens show, we have another show in Bolton at The Railway, Bromley Cross! In the meantime, here’s a couple of videos to show you what you might see at those shows:

The next video was hard to choose. We’ve already shared virtually the entire first half performance from our show at Thornton Little Theatre a few weeks ago. So we decided on this one, featuring Mr. James Cooper on the drums!

Mama at The Citadel, St. HelensHere’s hoping we see some of you at The Citadel in St. Helens or Bolton. Do come and say hello to us if you’re in the building. As always, we’d love a share on your Facebook timeline and a tweet if you’re so inclined. You can easily share this page on various websites, using the buttons below. Alternatively, leave us a comment below to let us know what you think of the videos.

2012 A Year In Review

Christmas? A Birthday? Or both?

It’s Christmas and the band is officially turning one year old! A mere year has gone by and we’ve racked up a steady 16 gigs in 10 counties, selling over 1,800 tickets. We’ve released 17 different videos on our Vimeo Channel and had 144 excellent comments on our website. We’ve picked up 1,300 likes on our Facebook page and our discussion forum has seen people discussing the band and Genesis themselves all year round. On Twitter we’ve had an excellent run, gaining over 1,000 followers from all over the world. In short, 2012 was a great year for the band thanks to you.

2013 beckons for Genesis fans everywhere

If 2012 was the year that the band was put together and built into a full show, 2013 is going to be the year we build our audiences and bring the show to new people. We’ve made significant investments in our sound equipment, our videos, merchandise lines, our promotion and of course put in a lot of work to perfect our set list over 2012, which we will be adding to for 2013. We also intend on building our light show to compliment the bands performance for 2013 and we have several new Genesis pieces in the pipeline to refresh the setlist. So, exciting times ahead! Mama Launch Weekend – Thanks all!

John W - Pacific Road Mama Launch GigEvening all!ย  (as JW would say)ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

As the Mama launch weeked draws to a close, we’d like to pass our thanks on to everyone who came to see our shows at Pacific Road Arts Centre in Birkenhead and Stoney Stanton Social Club in, er, Stoney Stanton! We really cannot tell you how much it means to the band to have two amazing crowds, having never played a gig before as a band. The atmosphere you lot created was truly electric!

Also, we’d like to thanks Steve & Neil from Moonshooter who promoted the Pacific Road gig and Jim and his team at Stoney Stanton who pulled an amazing attendance out of the hat. Don’t forget to keep your eye on the Ultimate Set List Live and Stoney Stanton Social Club websites for some great live events happening in your area.

The Mama Facebook page has been buzzing with feedback from lots of people and we’ve received countless emails telling us what a great time everyone had watching the band. Here’s a selection of your feedback:

“Mama, The All Era Genesis Tribute Band Review.

From the smoldering embers of Face Value, one of the best ever Genesis tribute bands has emerged.

There are no gimmicks, costumes or masks just 5 talented musicians doing what they do bestโ€ฆ.entertaining their fans.

The backbone of the band needs no introduction. John W, the authentic lead vocalist who sounds more like Phil Collins everyday, Chris O, whose guitar solos make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end and the modest John C on keyboards who at times appears embarrassed to be gifted with such ability.

โ€œAnd then there were 3โ€ are joined by James, the young enthusiastic acoustic drummer who was clearly loving every second of the performance and Mark on Bass who has added a new dimension to the sound.

The โ€œMamaโ€ family also consists of new professional sound man, Andrew, lighting by way of the always reliable Kev and backup from Dave. Then, of course, are the devoted and loyal fans that will travel all over the country to share in the โ€œMamaโ€ experience.

Yesterday was their first gig in Birkenhead after months of rehearsals to integrate the new members and to learn new songs. The hard work has paid dividends with a slick show that swiftly moved from one song to another seamlessly and during the performance each band member had the opportunity to perform individually to great effect. It is unlikely that Genesis will ever reform but if they have the opportunity to see this band perform they will realise their legacy is in safe hands.

Enjoy Stoney Stanton and beyond.”
