MAMA plays the music of British supergroup Genesis and some pieces by former members. The band is based in the UK and currently plays 20-25 shows a year at venues across the country.

Four of the five band members are based in the North West England area. We are led by front man and lead vocalist John Wilkinson, highly acclaimed for his ability to deliver on the Phil Collins vocal sound of Genesis with power, passion and total precision. On keyboards, the band benefits from the technical wizardry of John Comish. Stunning guitars are provided by Darren Dean, backed up with the rock solid technical playing of Tim Rothwell on drums and David Jones on bass.

Performing all eras of Genesis and related solo works, Mama is a UK based Genesis tribute band

As you’ve probably noticed, Mama is an ‘all era’ Genesis tribute band. To this end, we perform pieces from every era of Genesis from the early Peter Gabriel Genesis albums, right through the Phil Collins era in the 70’s and 80’s and up to the final Genesis studio album, We Can’t Dance.

There is also some consideration for music by Mike & The Mechanics and some solo works by Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins.

Below is a list of the current tracks that Mama could perform at their live shows:

  • Abacab
  • All I Need Is A Miracle
  • Domino
  • Dukes Medley
  • Follow You Follow Me
  • I Know What I Like
  • In The Air Tonight
  • In The Cage Medley
  • Invisible Touch
  • Jesus He Knows Me
  • Land Of Confusion
  • Los Endos
  • Mama
  • Many Too Many
  • Misunderstanding
  • No Son Of Mine
  • Ripples
  • Solsbury Hill
  • Spectral Mornings
  • Squonk
  • The Carpet Crawlers
  • The Musical Box
  • Throwing It All Away
  • Tonight Tonight Tonight
  • Turn It On Again

The list is always being added to and please bear in mind that Mama will also be keeping some surprises back, at least at the beginning of a new set list. If you would like to discuss song selection and make a ‘wish list’ by all means engage the band on the Mama forum.  🙂

“It was great seeing Mama in 2012. All three times were outstanding. At the final time this year at the Ukrainian club you featured “Fading Lights” (In part) I really look forward to the new material. When you go into Winter rehearsals could you look at “Duchess” Its probably one of the best Collins’ era songs… And she dreamed that every time that she performed Everyone would cry for more, That all she had to do was step into the light, And everyone would start to roar.”
Eric Perry

“Thank you for an excellent gig. You truly wowed me, you were note perfect and Johns vocals and the lead guitarist were ace!!”
